REESE PEANUT BUTTER CUPS Surprise Truffles Recipe

Ingredients

  • 4 cups CHIPITS Milk Chocolate Chips, divided 1 L
  • 3/4 cup whipping cream 175 mL
  • 1 1/3 cups REESE'S MINIATURES PEANUT BUTTER CUPS Candy 325 mL
  • 2 cups CHIPITS White Chocolate Chips, divided 500 mL

Directions

    1. Place 3 cups (750 mL) milk chocolate chips and whipping cream in large microwave-safe container. Microwave at MEDIUM (50%) 1 minute; stir. If necessary, microwave at MEDIUM an additional 15 seconds at a time, stirring after each heating, until chips are melted and mixture is smooth when stirred. Cover; refrigerate several hours or until firm.

    2. Line cookie sheet or tray with wax paper. Roll mixture into 1-inch (2.5 cm) balls; place on prepared tray. Refrigerate about 1 hour or until firm enough to handle.

    3. Flatten each ball slightly; press around one REESE'S MINIATURES PEANUT BUTTER CUPS Candy, covering cup completely. Return to tray. Cover; refrigerate about 30 minutes.

    4. Line second cookie sheet or tray with wax paper or line candy cups on tray, if desired. Place remaining 1 cup (250 mL) milk chocolate chips and 1-1/4 cups (300 mL) white chocolate chips in medium microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at MEDIUM 1 minute; stir. If necessary, microwave at MEDIUM an additional 15 seconds at a time, stirring after each heating, just until chips are melted and smooth when stirred.

    5. Place truffle on fork and immediately dip into melted chocolate mixture; allow excess chocolate to drip off truffles. If necessary, scrape off excess chocolate with knife or small spatula. Place on prepared tray or in paper cups. Refrigerate until coating is firm (about 30 minutes).

    6. Place remaining 3/4 cup (175 mL) white chocolate chips in small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at MEDIUM 1 minute; stir. If necessary, microwave at MEDIUM an additional 15 seconds at a time, stirring after each heating, until chips are melted and smooth when stirred. Transfer melted chips to heavy-duty (freezer) resealable food storage bag. Cut tip of bag about 1/8 inch (3 mm) from corner; drizzle melted white chocolate chips in decorative design on tops of truffles. Allow to set. Store in cool, dry place.

    Makes about 42 truffles.
