  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup applesauce
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2 eggs

This recipe was wonderful!! Tried it and first try, turned out amazing--friends and relatives are asking for it specifically now. I did use the walnuts and though I'm not a big fan of nuts, it was delicious in this bread. Great recipe! One of my new favorites! Super easy too.

Easy recipe. Would prefer to use vegetable oil versus shortening.
