Very simple to make. The only change I made was to roughly mash about 2/3 of a can of Luck's cinnamon fried apples (yielded about 3/4 cup) and use that plus about 1/4 cup of unsweetened applesauce rather than the 3/4 cup applesauce the receipe called for because I wanted apple bits in the cake. I baked it in a bundt pan for 45 minutes, but I started to check it at 40 minutes.

This is the best coffee cake I have ever had; home made or bought at a bakery or store. My mother keeps asking me to make her another!!! This is definitely a keeper!! Thanks Hersey's :))

The first time I made this coffee cake, I used the standard baking sheet that the recipe suggested: a 13x9x2 inch baking sheet. It turned okay, but it did not have a dense, moist center. In fact, it was very thin and slightly crispy. I decided to try the recipe for a second time, but instead of using the baking sheet again I used a bundt pan and the result was fabulous! My family had at least 3 pieces each and it was gone before the night was over. So my advice to others is do NOT use the baking sheet; use a deeper, shorter item, such as a bundt pan or a bread pan, if you want the soft, moist texture as shown in the picture. It really did taste good with the bundt pan!
