1. Heat oven to 375°F. Beat butter, shortening, brown sugar, milk, vanilla and egg in large bowl until well blended. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt; blend into butter mixture. Stir in peanut butter chips, oats and wanuts. Drop dough by rounded teaspoons about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
2. Bake until light brown, 10 to 12 minutes for soft cookies, 12 to 14 minutes for crisp cookies. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely. Store tightly covered. Makes about 6 dozen cookies.
