Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup HERSHEY'S Cocoa or HERSHEY'S SPECIAL DARK Cocoa
  • About 48 HERSHEY'S KISSES Brand Milk Chocolates or HERSHEY'S KISSES Brand SPECIAL DARK Mildly Sweet Chocolates
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar for rolling

Directions

  • 1. Heat oven to 350°F. Beat butter, sugar and vanilla in large bowl until creamy. Stir together flour and cocoa; gradually add to butter mixture, beating until blended. Mold scant tablespoon dough around each chocolate piece, covering completely. Shape into balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • 2. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Cool about 1 minute; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely. Roll in powdered sugar. Roll in sugar again just before serving, if desired. Makes about 48 cookies.

Ratings & Reviews

This is not a well written recipe. Its helpful if you put the dough in the refrigerator for a few hours so the dough is moldable. That is not in the recipe. Baking time is about 16 mins instead of 8-10 mins.
I make these for my family and co workers at Christmas time. They all love them!!!!
Great cookie. Made it for years and everyone loves it. Takes longer to peel the chocolates. Glad I found the recipe again.
You said to have powdered sugar where does that come in, in the recipe.
I have my mother-in-law's Hershey's Chocolate Treasury cook book from 1987...she passed away before I could ever meet her. My husband gave me her cook book. Weekly, I bake something out of it. In the cook book, the cookies are called "Cocoa-Pecan Kiss Cookies" & my entire family loves them! The recipe in my book is a little different so I'll stick to mine. They are WONDERFUL!!!
This recipe is in my Hershey Homemade recipe book. But it's a little different. Recipe calls for 1 2/3 flour and 1 cup finely chopped pecans. Everything else is the same.
These are one my favorite cookies. I've been asked for this recipe many times.
really good..didnt look like the picture with the hershey kiss still looking like it did before baking.
they were delicious. brought them to our bake sale and everyone loved them. They crumbled a little when you eat them not sure if they were suppose to.
The first time I made these 5 years ago, they were part of my gift plates for my family. Everyone LOVED them and they have become my dad's favorite. He said they tasted like they came from a gormet cookie shop...they don't last long at our house!
