REESE'S Chewy Chocolate Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1-2/3 cups REESE'S Peanut Butter Chips
  • 1-1/4 cups butter or margarine
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup HERSHEY'S Cocoa

Directions

  • 1. Heat oven to 350°F. Stir together flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; set aside.
  • 2. Beat butter and sugar in large bowl with mixer until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Gradually add flour mixture, beating well. Stir in peanut butter chips. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  • 3. Bake 8 to 9 minutes. (Do not over bake; cookies will be soft. They will puff while baking and flatten while cooling.) Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely. Makes about 54 cookies.
  • PAN RECIPE: Spread batter in greased 15-1/2x10-1/2x1-inch jelly-roll pan. Bake at 350°F 20 minutes or until set. Cool completely in pan on wire rack; cut into bars. About 4 dozen bars.
  • ICE CREAM SANDWICHES: Prepare CHEWY CHOCOLATE COOKIES as directed; cool. Press small scoop of vanilla ice cream between flat sides of cookies. Wrap and freeze.
  • HIGH ALTITUDE DIRECTIONS:
  • -- Increase flour to 2 cups plus 2 tablespoons.
  • -- Decrease baking soda to 3/4 teaspoon.
  • -- Decrease sugar to 1-2/3 cups.
  • -- Add 2 teaspoons water with flour mixture.
  • -- Bake at 350°F, 7 to 8 minutes. Yield increases to about 6 dozen.

    One of my favorite "go to" recipes when I want a good dose of chocolate. I always use chocolate chips instead of peanut butter, and sometimes add 1 - 2 teaspoons of instant coffee granules.
    I made these last night. They came out perfect. Followed the recipe exactly. They were chewy and delicious.
    these were really good..i did change two things. first i doubled the recipe, then for the sugar I used 1 c. splenda and 2 cups brown sugar, 1c.crisco and 1 1/2c. soft butter, everything else i left the same. Everyone loved them. thank you
    The cookies turned out great. These are the best cookies I've made so far, easy to make and delicious to eat.
    Made these for the first time for my husband about two years ago. Now I make them about three times a year. They don't last long in this house. Everyone loves them! Tip to non flat cookies is to use butter that isn't too soft. Take the butter out to soften about two hours before baking. Hope that helps.
    These are a MUST MAKE! they are so rich and delicious. I added some chocolate chips and they turned out great! My husband and son loved them. I would recommend baking them a minute longer than the recommended time...my were just a bit doughy in the center. Never the less still delicious and I will make them again!

    I have made these cookies before and they were very very good! Easy recipe and everyone who ate the cookies loved them!
    I made these for our 4th of July picnic this year. I actually added a package of semi-sweet chocolate chips to them, because for me, the more chocolate, the better something is! I made 2 batches, and they were almost gone before the meal was put out! My brother, who is a gym rat and doesn't eat sweets, ate about 20 himself, and is already asking when I'm going to make them again! I guess you could say they were a hit!
    These cookies are easy to make and melt in your mouth! Very rich and yummy!

    These were divine! I did add some whole wheat pastry flour, as I normally do with my baked goods (unless white). My cookies did not flatten. They stayed puffy and soft, but chewy. To avoid flat cookies, use some shortening in your recipes. I used 1/2 cup shortening, and I also used 1/2 cup brown sugar. They were perfectly delcious! This recipe is a a keeper!

    These are my favorite cookies ever! Growing up we had them every Christmas season. Ever since I have been out on my own( and I'm in my 30's now) I just Love making them whenever I feel like it rather than only having them around the Holidays! Of course, I make them at Christmas too! I'm pregnant right now, and I'm looking forward to making them with my little girl in the holidays to come.
    This is an awesome cookie recipe! I was looking for a chocolatey recipe to add some mint chocolate chips to. I made these tonight, and they are not lasting long! They are too good to leave on a plate. These are better than fresh double chocolate chip cookies from Subway! :D
    These are amazing! Absolutely decadent! Very easy to make and will plan on making these over and over again anytime I'm in need of a chocolate and peanut butter fix!
    This recipe was scrumpdillyicious, chewy and gooey, and rich when they were fresh. Stored them in wax paper to keep the freshness. Will definately make again for the chocolate peanut butter lovers.
