  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar

Directions

  • 1. Heat oven to 350°F.
  • 2. Beat butter, sugar, brown sugar, egg and vanilla in large bowl until well blended. Stir together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt; add alternately with buttermilk to butter mixture. Measure batter by scant 1/4 cupfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.

The cookie by itself was kind of bland. The frosting was not good.
