1-2/3 cups HERSHEY'S Milk Chocolate Chips, HERSHEY'S SPECIAL DARK Chocolate Chips, HERSHEY'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips or HERSHEY'S MINI KISSES Brand Milk Chocolates
1. Heat oven to 350°F. Grease 13x9x2-inch baking pan.
2. Stir together flour, sugar, pecans, butter and egg in large bowl. Add butter; cut in with pastry blender or fork until mixture resembles coarse crumbs; set aside 1-1/2 cups crumb mixture. Press remaining crumb mixture on bottom of prepared pan. Stir jam to soften; carefully spread over crumb mixture in pan. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Crumble reserved crumb mixture evenly over top.
3. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool completely in pan on wire rack; cut into bars. Makes about 24 bars.
This has become a Christmas favorite in my family. It's absolutely delicious, and hits that sweet tooth right on the spot.
The bars got a great review from my boyfriend and coworkers. I like the versatility of being able to change up the flavors. I did it with blueberry jam and lemon chips. I generally do not make bars often because I find them a pain to cut. But, these cut very well. I lined the pan with foil and sprayed the foil. Worked great. I will definitely make these again with another flavor combo.
This is my husbands favorite cookie at Holiday Time. I make at least 12 different kinds of cookies every holiday season and he looks forward to this one. My friends can't wait to get my cookies each year and they all love this one also. Excellent :-)
