  • 6 apples eating (each about 3 inches in diameter)
  • Pastry for 9-inch two-crust pie
  • 1-1/3 cups HEATH BITS 'O BRICKLE Toffee Bits (8-oz. pkg.)
  • 1 cup water
  • Sweetened whipped cream or ice cream (optional)

Directions

  • 1. Heat oven to 400°F. Wash, peel and core apples.
  • 2. Prepare pastry dough as directed; roll into 14 x 21-inch rectangle. Cut into 6 squares. Place apple on each square. Moisten corners of pastry squares. Bring 2 opposite corners up over apple and pinch together. Repeat with remaining corners. Pinch edges of pastry to seal. Place dumplings in ungreased 13x9x2-inch baking pan.*
  • 3. Combine toffee bits and water in medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until toffee is dissolved (about 10 minutes). Pour over and around dumplings.
  • 4. Bake 40 to 50 minutes or until crust is golden and apples are tender. Serve warm or cool with toffee mixtue and whipped cream or ice cream, if desired. 6 dumplings.
  • *Already prepared and frozen apple dumplings may be used instead of preparing your own. Follow manufacturer's baking instructions.
