  • 4 to 6 tart apples such as Granny Smith large
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch or all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 package refrigerated pie crusts (15-oz. box) , softened as directed on box
  • 1-1/3 cups HEATH BITS 'O BRICKLE Toffee Bits (8-oz. pkg.) , divided
  • 2 teaspoons white decorator sugar crystals or granulated sugar , divided
  • Sweetened whipped cream or ice cream (optional)

Directions

  • 1. Heat oven to 400°F. Peel and slice apples into thin slices. Toss apples with granulated sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon.

Sprinkle 1/3 cup of remaining toffee bits over each apple center. Fold 2-inch edge of crust over apples. Sprinkle each crust edge with 1 teaspoon sugar crystals.
