  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • CHOCOLATE GLAZE (recipe follows)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup HERSHEY'S Cocoa
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup butter or margarine (2 sticks)
  • MINT CREAM CENTER (recipe follows)

Directions

  • 1. Heat oven to 350°F. Grease 13x9x2-inch glass baking dish.
  • 2. Place butter in large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at MEDIUM (50%)2 minutes or until melted. Stir in sugar and vanilla. Add eggs; beat well. Add cocoa, flour and baking powder; beat until well blended. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  • 3. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until "brownie" begins to pull away from sides of pan. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Spread MINT CREAM CENTER on cake. Cover; refrigerate. Pour CHOCOLATE GLAZE over chilled dessert. Cover; refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving. About 24 servings.
  • MINT CREAM CENTER: Combine 2 cups powdered sugar, 1/2 cup (1 stick) softened butter or margarine and 2 tablespoons green creme de menthe liqueur (OR, 1 tablespoon water, 1/2 to 3/4 teaspoon mint extract and 3 drops green food color may be substituted for creme de menthe) in small bowl; beat until smooth.
  • CHOCOLATE GLAZE: Place 6 tablespoons butter or margarine and 1 cup HERSHEY'S SPECIAL DARK Chocolate Chips or HERSHEY'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips in small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at MEDIUM (50%) 1 minute; stir. If necessary, microwave at MEDIUM an additional 15 seconds at a time, stirring after each heating, until chips are melted and mixture is smooth when stirred. Cool slightly.
  • VARIATION:
  • DOUBLE CHOCOLATE MINT DESSERT: HERSHEY'S Mint Chocolate Chips may be substituted for HERSHEY'S SPECIAL DARK Chocolate Chips or HERSHEY'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips in glaze. Omit creme de menthe in cream center.
