3/4 cupsugar
1/4 cupHERSHEY'S Spreads Chocolate
1 teaspoonvanilla extract
Dash salt
3 tablespoonsbutter or margarine, melted
2 cupsmilk
5 cupsday-old French or Italian bread (1 to 2-inch cubes)
EASY CHOCOLATE SAUCE (recipe follows)
Sweetened whipped cream (optional)

Directions

  • 1. Heat oven to 350°F. Butter 1-1/2 quart baking dish.
  • 2. Beat eggs, sugar and chocolate spread in large bowl with whisk until well blended. Blend in vanilla, salt and melted butter. Add bread cubes, stirring until well coated. Pour mixture into prepared dish. Place dish in roasting pan; add 1 inch of hot water to pan.
  • 3. Bake 53 to 58 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Remove from roasting pan to wire rack. Cool slightly.
  • 4. Serve with EASY CHOCOLATE SAUCE and sweetened whipped cream, if desired. Cover; refrigerate leftover bread pudding. About 8 servings.
  • EASY CHOCOLATE SAUCE
  • 1/2 cup HERSHEY'S Spreads Chocolate or HERSHEY'S Spreads Caramel flavored Chocolate
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons milk
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • Dash ground nutmeg (optional)
  • Combine chocolate spread and 1 tablespoon milk at a time until mixture is smooth and of desired consistency. Stir in cinnamon and nutmeg, if desired. Cover; refrigerate leftovers.
