  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter (1/2 stick) , softened
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup HERSHEY'S Syrup

Directions

  • 1. Heat oven to 350°F. Grease 9-inch square baking pan.
  • 2. Stir together flour and sugar in large bowl. Remove 1/4 cup mixture; set aside for topping. Stir baking soda, baking powder and salt into remaining flour mixture. Add butter, egg, milk and syrup; beat until well blended. Pour batter into prepared pan. Sprinkle reserved flour mixture over top.
  • 3. Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. (Cake will have a very slight sink in the center.) Serve warm or at room temperature. Makes 12 servings.
