Almond Cherry Blossoms

  • 1/2 cup maraschino cherries, chopped
  • 1 pouch sugar cookie mix (about 17.5 oz.)
  • Egg and butter called for on cookie mix package
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
  • 2 cups almonds, finely chopped
  • 48 HERSHEY'S KISSES Brand Milk Chocolates with Almonds

Directions

  • 1. Lightly press chopped cherries between layers of paper towel to remove excess moisture. Blend cookie mix according to package directions adding cherries and almond extract, if desired. Refrigerate dough until firm enough to handle, about 30 minutes.
  • 2. Heat oven to 375°F. Remove wrappers from chocolates. Shape dough into 48 (about 1-inch) balls. Roll balls in chopped almonds; place on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • 3. Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until lightly browned. Immediately press a chocolate into center of each cookie. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely. Makes 48 cookies.
