Stocking Your Holiday Pantry

The holiday season is peak baking time.

Preparing for all those parties and guests is fun but can get a little hectic if you aren’t prepared. We’ve paired up with a few of our favorite bakers and asked them to share their tips and tricks for preparing for the holiday festivities.

 

  1. Mix cookie batters ahead of time and freeze. That way you only need to scoop and bake during the busy holiday time.
  2. When baking with kids, look for recipes where they can own a step while you focus on the messier or more complicated steps of the recipe.
  3. Stock your pantry so that when the opportunity arises to bake or a new invite to a holiday party comes through, you can easily tackle a quick holiday recipe without rushing out to the store.
  4. Stock up on the basics: Cocoa Powder, various HERSHEY’S Kitchens Baking Chips and HERSHEY’S KISSES Candies. These are the items you can add to many recipes to make them uniquely yours or seasonally focused.
  5. Keep some extra candy, chocolate syrup, powdered sugar, or chocolate around as well. These are easy ways to decorate those baked goods that don’t come out perfect. A little dusting, coating, and eye candy can go a long way and give most desserts a festive flair.
