REESE Peanut Butter Nut Bars Recipe


3 tbspbutter (45 mL)
2 cupsall-purpose flour (500 mL)
1 cuppacked brown sugar (250 mL)
1 cupbutter, softened (250 mL)
1 3/4 cupsCHIPITS REESE Peanut Butter Chips (300 g)
3/4 cupgolden corn syrup (175 mL)
2 cupsunsalted peanuts or mixed nuts (500 mL)


    1. Heat oven to 350°F (180°C).

    2. In large bowl, mix together flour, brown sugar and 1 cup (250 mL) butter; mix until crumbly. Press firmly into ungreased 13 x 9-inch (33 x 23 cm) baking pan.

    3. Bake 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool slightly.

    4. In medium saucepan, combine peanut butter chips, corn syrup, and 3 tbsp (45 mL) butter. Cook over medium heat, stirring until smoothly melted. Spread evenly over cooled base.

    5. Sprinkle nuts on top; press lightly onto topping. Chill until topping is firm, about 1 hour. Cut into bars.

    Makes about 36 bars.
