HERSHEY'S Doubly Chocolate Cookies Recipe

4 1/2 dozen cookies


2 cupsall-purpose flour (500 mL)
2/3 cupHERSHEY'S Cocoa (150 mL)
3/4 tspbaking soda (4 mL)
1/4 tspsalt (1 mL)
1 cupbutter or margarine, softened (250 mL)
1 1/2 cupsgranulated sugar (375 mL)
2 eggs (2)
2 tspvanilla (10 mL)
2 cupsCHIPITS Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (350 g)
1/2 cupcoarsely chopped nuts (optional) (125 mL)


    1. Heat oven to 350°F (180°C).

    2. In large bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla until creamy.

    3. In medium bowl, mix together flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Gradually add to butter mixture, beating well. Stir in semi-sweet chocolate chips and nuts, if desired. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet.

    4. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or just until set. Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely.

    Makes about 4-1/2 dozen cookies.
