HERSHEY'S Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

|6 tbsp||softened butter (90 mL)|
|1/3 cup||butter flavoured shortening (75 mL)|
|1/2 cup||packed light brown sugar (125 mL)|
|1/3 cup||granulated sugar (75 mL)|
|1 1/2 tsp||vanilla extract (7 mL)|
|1 1/4 cups||all-purpose flour (300 mL)|
|1/2 tsp||baking soda (2 mL)|
|1/2 tsp||salt (2 mL)|
|2 cups||CHIPITS Dark Chocolate Chips or CHIPITS Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (500 mL)|
|3/4 cup||chopped nuts (optional) (175 mL)|
- 1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
2. Beat butter with shortening in a large bowl until well blended. Add brown sugar and granulated sugar; beat thoroughly. Add egg and vanilla; beat until well blended.
3. Stir flour with baking soda and salt; gradually beat into butter mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts (if using). Drop by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
4. Bake (in batches as needed) for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool slightly; transfer to a rack and cool completely.
Makes about 3 1/2 dozen cookies.
