REESE’S Melt Your Heart Brownies Recipe

Things You'll Need

  • 3/4 cup HERSHEY'S Cocoa
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2/3 cup butter or margarine , melted and divided
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1-1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1-2/3 cups (10-oz. pkg.) REESE'S Peanut Butter Chips
  • 18 REESE'S Peanut Butter filled Hearts*

How to Make

  • 1. Heat oven to 350°F. Follow manufacturer's directions for using individual heart-shaped pans or molds.
  • 2. Stir together cocoa and baking soda in large bowl; stir in 1/3 cup butter. Add boiling water; stir until mixture thickens. Stir in sugar, eggs and remaining 1/3 cup butter; stir until smooth. Add flour, vanilla and salt; blend thoroughly. Stir in peanut butter chips.
  • 3. Spoon batter into molds, filling each mold halfway. Bake 20 to 23 minutes or until set.
  • 4. Cool almost completely in mold on wire rack; remove from mold. Place unwrapped peanut butter filled heart on top of each brownie, pressing in gently. Makes about 18 (2-1/2 inch) brownie hearts.
  • * Number of hearts needed depends on size of mold and yield.
