HERSHEY'S Snowman Soup

  • • 1/2 cup HERSHEY’S Cocoa
  • • 2 cups nonfat dry milk powder
  • • 3/4 cup sugar
  • • 1/2 cup powdered non-dairy creamer
  • • Dash salt
  • • Holiday HERSHEY’S Kisses Brand Chocolates, 10-ounce bag
  • • Mini marshmallows, 10-ounce bag
  • • Six 8-ounce jars
  • • Ribbon or twist ties
  • • White cardstock or label paper, 2 sheets

  • For Chocolate-covered Spoons:
  • • HERSHEY’S Semi-Sweet Baking Pieces, 12-ounce bag
  • • HERSHEY’S Premiere White Baking Pieces, 12-ounce bag
  • • 8 plastic spoons
  • • Rainbow sprinkles
  • • Plastic wrap
  • • Microwave-safe bowl
  • • Wooden spoon
  • • Cookie sheet
  • • Parchment paper
  • • Hole punch (optional)

How to Make

  • 1. Print labels onto cardstock or label paper. Cut out and set aside.

  • 2. To make hot cocoa mix, combine HERSHEY’S Cocoa, nonfat dry milk powder, sugar, powdered non-dairy creamer and a dash of salt in large bowl. Stir to blend well.

  • 3. Place 1/2 cup of the cocoa mix into the bottom of a jar.

  • 4. Add six Holiday HERSHEY’S Kisses Brand Chocolates and a handful of mini marshmallows to the jar.

  • 5. Seal the jar, and attach label.

  • 6. Repeat steps three through five until you have created eight bags of snowman soup.

  • 7. Attach a chocolate-covered spoon to each jar with a piece of ribbon.

  • To make the snowman spoons:

  • 1. Cover a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Set aside eight orange-colored sprinkles for the snowmen’s noses and 16 white-colored sprinkles for the snowmen’s arms.

  • 2. Place 1/2 cup HERSHEY’S Milk Chocolate Baking Pieces into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 30 seconds, then stir. Continue to microwave in 15-second intervals, stirring between intervals, until chocolate is completely melted.

  • 3. Dip the bowl of a plastic spoon into the melted chocolate, making sure both front and back sides are covered. Set the spoon face-up onto the parchment paper.

  • 4. Gently press three HERSHEY’S Premiere White Baking Pieces in a vertical line down the bowl of the spoon.

  • 5. Press a single orange sprinkle into the chocolate to create the nose. Then press two white sprinkles into the chocolate to create the arms.

  • 6. Repeat steps two through four until you have created eight chocolate-covered spoons.

  • 7. Place the cookie sheet into the refrigerator and allow to set, approximately 30 minutes.

  • 8. When spoons have set, wrap the top of each with plastic wrap and close with a twist tie or piece of ribbon.

  • Makes 8 jars of snowman soup and 8 spoons.
