13. Why do HERSHEY'S SMARTZONE bars contain fructose instead of another type of sweetener?
Unlike other alternative liquid sweeteners, fructose has an incredibly low glycemic index (GI = 20). For example, regular corn syrup has a GI of 100, and high fructose corn syrup's GI is 56.
