Milk Chocolate Cereal Treats


  • 36 HERSHEY'S KISSES Brand Milk Chocolates , divided
  • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine
  • 4 cups miniature marshmallows or 40 (10-oz. pkg.) marshmallows
  • 4 cups crisp rice cereal
  • 1/2 teaspoon shortening (do not use butter, margarine, spread or oil)


  1. Butter 9-inch square pan or 11x7x2-inch pan. Remove wrappers from chocolates.

  2. Place butter in large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at HIGH (100%) 45 seconds or until melted. Add marshmallows and 30 milk chocolates; stir to coat with butter. Microwave at HIGH 1 minute; stir. If necessary, microwave at HIGH an additional 15 seconds at a time, stirring after each heating, until marshmallows and chocolates are melted when stirred.

  3. Immediately add cereal, stirring until well coated. Press mixture evenly in prepared pan. Cool completely.

  4. Coarsely chop remaining 6 chocolates and place with shortening in small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at MEDIUM (50%) 30 seconds; stir. If necessary, microwave at MEDIUM an additional 10 seconds at a time, stirring after each heating, until chocolates are melted and smooth when stirred. Drizzle over cereal mixture in pan. Allow drizzle to set. Cut into bars. Makes 16 bars.
