The HERSHEY'S KISSMOBILE Cruiser and the Children's Miracle Network
The partnership between The Hershey Company and Children's Miracle Network began in 1987. Since then, The Hershey Company and its employees have raised over $7 million for Children's Miracle Network. Milton S. Hershey, the company's founder, instituted Hershey's tradition of charitable involvement. The company's commitment to charitable causes is still evident today.
Children's Miracle Network - the alliance of premier hospitals for children- is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children's hospitals across North America. Each year the 170 Children's Miracle Network hospitals provide the finest medical care, life-saving research and preventative education to help millions of kids overcome diseases and injuries of every kind.
Each HERSHEY'S KISSMOBILE Cruiser will travel over 30,000 miles in 2007. The HERSHEY'S KISSMOBILE Cruisers and crews will visit children's hospitals, participate in parades and festivals, make retail store visits, and of course, give away plenty of HERSHEY'S KISSES brand milk chocolates. People will have an opportunity to have their picture taken with the KISSMOBILE Cruiser for a modest donation to Children's Miracle Network. All funds will be donated to the local Children's Miracle Network hospital.
Children's Miracle Network has grown dramatically since it was founded in 1983. It has gone from a televised fundraiser in a small studio to one of the world's leading children's charities, working to save and improve the lives of millions of children each year. Thousands of special events and fundraisers are conducted year-round through a coalition of premier children's hospitals, media partners and corporate volunteers working together to ensure healthy kids in their communities. In addition to the "Children's Miracle Network Celebration," an annual televised fundraiser, corporate sponsors sell paper Miracle Balloons, radio stations broadcast Radiothons, and college students hold Dance Marathons. These are just a few of the programs generating millions of dollars each year to provide the life saving care and crucial outreach programs kids need.
This year alone, Children's Miracle Network hospitals will provide charity care worth billions of dollars, yet they must depend on community support to help fund these vital services.
Through its year-round efforts to help hospitalized kids, Children's Miracle Network has raised more than $2.2 billion to-date, most of which is donated a dollar or two at a time by caring individuals across North America. For more information log on to CMN Web site.
