HERSHEY'S Snowman Soup

Supplies

  1. • 1/2 cup HERSHEY’S Cocoa
  2. • 2 cups nonfat dry milk powder
  3. • 3/4 cup sugar
  4. • 1/2 cup powdered non-dairy creamer
  5. • Dash salt
  6. • Holiday HERSHEY’S Kisses Brand Chocolates, 10-ounce bag
  7. • Mini marshmallows, 10-ounce bag
  8. • Six 8-ounce jars
  9. • Ribbon or twist ties
  10. • White cardstock or label paper, 2 sheets
  11. • Scissors
  12. • Chocolate-covered spoons
  13. For Chocolate-covered Spoons:
  14. • HERSHEY’S Semi-Sweet Baking Pieces, 12-ounce bag
  15. • HERSHEY’S Premiere White Baking Pieces, 12-ounce bag
  16. • 8 plastic spoons
  17. • Rainbow sprinkles
  18. • Plastic wrap
  19. • Microwave-safe bowl
  20. • Wooden spoon
  21. • Cookie sheet
  22. • Parchment paper
  23. • Hole punch (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1. Print labels onto cardstock or label paper. Cut out and set aside.
  2. 2. To make hot cocoa mix, combine HERSHEY’S Cocoa, nonfat dry milk powder, sugar, powdered non-dairy creamer and a dash of salt in large bowl. Stir to blend well.
  3. 3. Place 1/2 cup of the cocoa mix into the bottom of a jar.
  4. 4. Add six Holiday HERSHEY’S Kisses Brand Chocolates and a handful of mini marshmallows to the jar.
  5. 5. Seal the jar, and attach label.
  6. 6. Repeat steps three through five until you have created eight bags of snowman soup.
  7. 7. Attach a chocolate-covered spoon to each jar with a piece of ribbon.
  8. To make the snowman spoons:
  9. 1. Cover a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Set aside eight orange-colored sprinkles for the snowmen’s noses and 16 white-colored sprinkles for the snowmen’s arms.
  10. 2. Place 1/2 cup HERSHEY’S Milk Chocolate Baking Pieces into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 30 seconds, then stir. Continue to microwave in 15-second intervals, stirring between intervals, until chocolate is completely melted.
  11. 3. Dip the bowl of a plastic spoon into the melted chocolate, making sure both front and back sides are covered. Set the spoon face-up onto the parchment paper.
  12. 4. Gently press three HERSHEY’S Premiere White Baking Pieces in a vertical line down the bowl of the spoon.
  13. 5. Press a single orange sprinkle into the chocolate to create the nose. Then press two white sprinkles into the chocolate to create the arms.
  14. 6. Repeat steps two through four until you have created eight chocolate-covered spoons.
  15. 7. Place the cookie sheet into the refrigerator and allow to set, approximately 30 minutes.
  16. 8. When spoons have set, wrap the top of each with plastic wrap and close with a twist tie or piece of ribbon.
  17. Makes 8 jars of snowman soup and 8 spoons.
